How to blend graphite

Image
Hello there! Welcome back, and also sorry if you thought I was dead or something, because I wasn't active in ummmmm...... I don't know how much, let's say in a "long time". Soooooooo, let's begin! You probably clicked on this post because you wanted to learn how to blend an shade with graphite, right? Probably yes (or you are just bored). Never mind, it doesn't matter. First thing is, that for the easiest option of blending, you just need your drawing and your finger. Basically you draw few lines very lightly and then smudge them on the place you want your shadows to go. If it is too light then do another layer and repeat.            Second option is to use eye shadow applicators which are pretty cheap and can be found in almost every store. You can do the same as with the finger, or apply some loose graphite on it and the smudge it where you want the shades to be.   - Third method is using a tissue or a q-tip to blend. Basically all the techniques are sim

Kneadable Eraser: my experience

Image
Hello there, and welcome back to another post on this blog. Today I am going to talk about kneadable erasers and my experience with them. First time I saw this thingy I was like: "It's like a piece of clay, this can not erase graphite!" But soon as I tried it out, I was kinda amazed and shocked at the same time. There are good, and bad sides of this eraser aka pros and cons, so we are going to talk about that now. Photo credit: google First thing these come in a variety of colors, I tried out this Faber-Castell one in red color and it works decently, and I also tried out another one from not so famous "brand". Basically they are best for sketches and highlights. You gently tap with them on the place where you want to highlight, and then they pick up some of the graphite. It is also great for erasing details, because you can easily mold it into any shape. You can use them to make your skethes lighter so the graphite doesent come trough the color later. Now it'

Where to find inspirations for drawings?

Image
Hello there, and welcome back! I wanted to share with you places where I find my inspiration. If you are new, here I post interesting topics, art hacks, reviews etc. Sooooo, let,s begin. 1. Pinterest Pinterest is in fact the app/site I use the most. If I am having an artblock, or just have no inspiration, need a reference for a pose, I go to pinterest, there are photos of literally anything you could think of. If you want to check it out I will probably post a link to it soon, but you can find me as "Aesthetically" or "Aestheticalls", I am not sure which is easier to find because one is username and one is name.  2. We heart it I use we heart it for this blog too, as you can see by the credits. It has amazing photos, aesthetic pictures, pngs, it is good both for editing and references. 3. Instagram I don't really search for photos on Instagram, but if something interesting pops up on my feed or explore page, I save it and later use it as a drawing reference. 4.B

Prismacolors: Are they worth it?

Image
Hello there, welcome back to another post on my blog! So I mentioned prismacolors on my last post, and I want to tell you more about these colored pencils. They are not the cheapest pencils, but however they are not the most expensive either. I got the pack of 72 pencils in a tin box, last year, and they are AMAZING. credit/whi Many artists say that they have got problems with prismacolor  leads breaking a lot. I never actually had their lead break, I use their sharpener (which was about 4$), and the lead actually never broke, so I am pretty satisfied with that. Also the colors are literally soooo pigmented, pencils are pretty easy to blend and layer. There is a pretty big range of colors, so that is also amazing too.

Are expensive art supplies better? + Which ones are my favourite

Image
Hello there welcome back. In this post we are going to discuss the theory: "Expensive art supplies are better, than the cheap ones". Is it true? We should see...                                                                       So first thing, you can use the most expensive art supplies, and your art could still turn out bad. It is not always the matter of expensive or cheap supplies, someone may not have talent and the art turns out bad even with the best quality art supplies. Although sometimes it is not about talent, maybe you are just using the wrong technique, or the medium is just BAD.  I would say that the theory is mostly true, except sometimes they are not really worth the price. What I am trying to say is that most of expensive art supplies are GOOD, but not worth the price ( really good: color, pigment, layering etc. but too expensive). Like you CAN MAKE GOOD ART with CHEAP supplies (like Crayola, Staedler etc.). I will post few drawings made with cheap supplie
