White paper or toned gray paper?

Image
Hello there! Welcome back to another post on this blog! Today's theme is white paper or toned gray? Is white paper really that bad? ; Which one should you use? ; Which one is the best one? etc. So, at the moment I don't have the Strathmore Toned Gray sketchbook (I am planing to get one and join @h.art.j's #graycult. If you don't know she is amazing artist that posts her artwork on instagram, so you should check it out by clicking here  (link doesn't work for some reason, so just search up h.art.j on Instagram or copy paste this link to your search bar instagram.com/h.art.j/)) as I can not purchase one due to the Corona crisis, but I am using a very similar alternative that I bought at the local bookshop.  On the left will be the toned gray and on the right will be the classic white paper from standard sketchbook. Using prismacolor as an art medium. For white paper I am using Arto hardcover sketchbook, but sadly I could not find it on Amazon to link it.    Toned Gray

Hello there! Welcome back  to another post on this blog, hope you will enjoy, and let's get started! So today's theme is how to blend prismacolors! If you find this topic interesting you might also check out my "How to blend graphite" post by clicking   here . Sooo there are a few techniques I wanted to mention today: 1. Layering and blending w/coloured pencils This is the most simple way of blending them, by layering a colour on top of the other one and just repeatedly doing it over and over again until you're happy with the result. 2. Using tortillions    I haven't seen anyone use tortillions for blending prismacolors, but this is my personal favorite way, as it blends them, but still gives you the ability to continue layering them afterwards. 3. Using Prismacolor colorless blender I haven't tried this one out myself, but a lot of people recommend it. I've heard that you can not layer nicely afterwards, so that's bad, but overall it looks pretty

Prismacolor : The breaking leads?

Hello there, I am back.  And let me be honest with y'all, I have missed blogging A LOT. And from now on I will be posting on Sundays + in my free time. Soo every Sunday 2pm CET you can expect an art related post from me, enough chit-chatting let's go! Prismacolors have gotten worse throughout the time? I have watched some YouTube videos about this, and the fact that they changed over time. Soo I would say they have changed, but they haven't gotten worse if I am being honest. The formula got softer all at once so that was a huge upgrade, but else than that not really much (just design of the pencil). And they haven't gotten WORSE they've gotten BETTER, if you ask me, but yet that's just my opinion. The breaking leads? So I've heard a lot of people saying that their prismacolors' leads break A LOT. And let me tell you, I own a 72 pack for a year already, and I NEVER, NEVER EVER had a prismacolor lead break. So I was wondering : "Wait how the hell do t
